RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA)

A person who is considering the possibility of becoming a Catholic, or who simply wishes to learn more about the Catholic Church, will find no better way to do this than to become a part of RCIA.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a process designed to form and inform inquirers who fall into three categories:

1.The unbaptized person;
2.The person baptized into a faith tradition other than Catholic;
3.The baptized Catholic who is seeking further sacraments of initiation

At St. Joseph, RCIA meets every Wednesday in the Parish Life Center from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m (exact dates will be upcoming)

Our Journey Begins – An Introduction to RCIA will be in September at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Life Center. We will be available after all Masses in August to answer questions, offer information and sign-up those who are interested RCIA NEWS -- Do you know someone who has expressed an interest in exploring the Catholic faith? Through RCIA, we offer an opportunity to come together in a small group to learn about our faith.

For more information, please contact Deacon Don Craighead

R.C.I.A. (The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) is actually a revival of an older practice whereby people joined the Church. It is designed to educate converts in the Catholic faith and prepare them to receive the sacraments of the Church.

The process attracts non-Catholics who are about to marry Catholics, people who were baptized in the Church at birth but never cofirmed and others who have just decided that the Church best fits their beliefs.
